Ed Westwick & Amy Jacksonâs Dream Home
Actors Ed Westwick & Amy Jackson build their dream home in the English Countryside, using Tannery Brown from the Deco Plank collection to create a contemporary-rustic design.
Last year, actor and musician Ed Westwick undertook a 9-month renovation with his fiancĂ©e, actress Amy Jackson, turning their country house into their dream home. Once complete, Ed took to Instagram to say that since moving from home at the age of 19 to relocate to America, he has lived in many places, but nothing had âfelt like homeâ until now. Located just outside London, Ed explained how they loved the energy of the house, which had been cherished by a family for over 35 years before them; and now, it was their turn to put down roots and build a life together, with a home designed entirely by themselves.
âThis is our first home together and our first time doing a full renovation. It was crazy and fun and amazing!
Sharing their design on Instagram, Ed explained some of the key elements that helped curate the contemporary countryside design the couple wanted: âWe were after rustic-modern countryside feel. The limewash technique brought a natural element indoors and the colour was specially curated by the eco friendly yet super luxurious @kalklitir – a beautiful family run business in France which prides itself on sustainability. The art, from my favourite @maddoxgallery gave the room a real burst of life – Jay and his team are the BEST!! Then we finished it off with the warmth of rich @v4woodflooring which elevated the whole room.â
When it came to the flooring, Amy and Ed chose Tannery Brown from our Deco Plank Collection. With deep brown tones, tumbled edges and pitting details on the surface, this plank was the perfect choice to complement their rustic-modern design. Measuring 190mm wide and 1900mm long, these European Oak Planks were perfect for the large open-plan design that completed the ground floor. Whilst the colour oil provides a warming and durable finish, perfect for busy homes.
When discussing why they chose Tannery Brown, Ed explained: âWe knew we wanted a darker wood which feels so rich and cosy. We found V4 through social media and contacted. The team was super helpful and quick!!â
The final design is a high-end, contemporary-rustic home, that perfectly captures Ed and Amyâs vision with its country charm. The large open space is flooded with light, creating a harmonious design between the deep brown hues of the Tannery Brown floor and the limewashed walls and ceiling. Whatâs more, the plethora of windows effectively connects the interior with its English countryside surroundings, effortlessly creating an internal sanctuary for the couple.
âThe goal was to create a home that felt comfortable and elegant. Like anything it wasnât simple, we tried things out and have got to where we are. We feel super good! The inspiration comes from our travels and experiences throughout life, Italy, Africa, India, America and of course England.â
When describing how he would describe the style of the home, Ed told us it was âa reflection of our life up to this point.â When asked what their favourite thing about the design was, Ed Explained it was the âreminders and a feeling which brings us warmth and feel settled.â Before going on to say âThere has been so much living out of a suitcase over the years. Itâs great to have this foundation.â
Overall, Ed and Amy have created their dream home, filled with charm and character. When discussing how they have found the floor since moving in, Ed concluded: âItâs everything we wanted. We love it!â. Why not order your very own sample of Ed and Amyâs Floor by clicking here, and start your dream flooring design today?
