Specialising in handcrafted luxury homes across Surrey and the surrounding counties, Oak & Olive Homes has built a reputation for creating exceptional new-build properties inspired by traditional architecture, elegant interiors and exquisite craftsmanship.
When CEO Max Chilton set out to create a new headquarters for the growing business, he wanted the space to embody the same values that define every Oak & Olive home.
The result is a beautifully restored period building in Brookwood, Surrey, where our Deco Tannery Brown engineered oak flooring plays a central role throughout the design.
We were invited to visit the new offices and discover how the design came together.
With a vision to ‘Build with Heritage’, the building they chose to become their new headquarters wasn’t short on history of its own, as Max explained.
"There's some great history to this building. It was a hotel over 100 years ago, then a pub for a very, very long time, and later a solicitor's office. The interior and layout didn't look anything like it does now. We wanted to create a space that truly reflected who we are, what we do and the values we stand for, so we spent a year renovating it before finally moving in."
At the heart of the office design were two core objectives: to create a workplace where team members feel at home while they're at work, and to ensure the office reflects the same attention to detail, quality and craftsmanship found throughout every Oak & Olive development.
“On the first floor we have workspace for more than ten team members in a clean, calm environment that's relaxed, collaborative and creative.
“Then downstairs is the converted cellar. It wasn't even standing height when we moved in, so we lowered the floor before giving it the Oak & Olive treatment, including the beautiful V4 wood flooring that now features in many of our projects too."
Selecting our Deco Tannery Brown planks, the flooring flows seamlessly throughout both levels of the office, creating continuity from the reception area, through the open-plan workspace, and down into the lower-ground level.
The converted cellar now accommodates client meeting rooms, a boardroom and additional collaborative spaces, all united by the rustic wood flooring.
The darker, warm oak tones of Tannery Brown perfectly complement the calm, neutral interior palette, adding depth and a sense of character that sits effortlessly alongside the building's restored features.
Oak & Olive Homes first discovered V4 when visiting our Surrey Design Centre in 2023. Located just a few miles from their offices, they were looking for a flooring partner capable of supplying carefully selected wood floors for their exclusive developments.
The experience immediately stood out.
"As soon as we arrived at the Design Centre, we knew this was a company that shared our passion for exceptional design and quality. The showroom was unlike anything else we'd seen when it came to flooring."

“Having V4 flooring in the design here offers an excellent opportunity for clients to experience it, as we confidently include it in so many of our projects now. Their high quality combined with being a natural material typifies the specification we strive for in all of our new homes. It is a beautiful addition to our office too, so we all get to enjoy it every day too.”
The completed head office is truly an extension of the Oak & Olive Homes brand, reflecting the quality of their work, and providing the team with an inspiring place to be each day.
"Moving here was absolutely the right decision. This space genuinely represents who we are. It's somewhere we're proud to welcome clients, consultants and contractors, whilst also giving our exceptional team a working environment that feels like home."
