Creating a truly seamless wood floor isn’t just about the planks you choose; it’s also the finishing details that bring everything together. From staircases and doorways to edges, transitions, and pipework, carefully selected profiles and trims will help give you a cohesive, high-end look throughout your home.
In this guide, we explore our comprehensive range of oak stair nosing, trims, profiles, and accessories, designed to work in harmony with engineered wood flooring. Whether you’re planning a full renovation or refining the finishing touches, these solutions will help you achieve a professional result with long-lasting performance.
Stair Nosing
Staircases might be viewed as challenging for a wood flooring installation, but they don’t have to interrupt your design. Whether you’re working with a full staircase or smaller step level changes within the home, our oak stair nosing allows you to continue your flooring seamlessly across every step.
Manufactured from high-quality solid oak, each nosing profile is designed for strength, durability, and visual consistency. Fully compatible with V4 engineered wood floors, these solutions provide both installation integrity and design flexibility, ensuring your stairs feel like a natural extension of your flooring.
Our different oak nosing options
Bull oak stair nosing

For a curved, elegant finish, our Bull Oak Stair Nosing creates an extended, rounded edge across each tread. This curved profile softens the appearance of the staircase while also providing a comfortable and durable edge underfoot.
Its tongue-and-groove profile makes it easy to clad your chosen floor planks to each step, ensuring a secure fit so planks are neatly integrated on your stairs.
The nosing is available in 100cm and 200cm length options, allowing wider staircases to be finished without visible joins for a clean, uninterrupted look. Depth options of 14mm and 18mm ensure compatibility with different flooring specifications, making it a practical and versatile choice.
Lip-over oak stair nosing
If you prefer a more contemporary style, the lip-over stair nosing offers a subtle, structured look. With a squarer profile and gently rounded edges, it strikes a balance between modern design and everyday practicality.
The slight overhang adds visual definition to each step, creating a refined design detail without being overly prominent. Unlike the bull nosing, this option does not rely on tongue-and-groove installation, giving you more flexibility during fitting. It’s designed to work with a range of flooring boards, which can be cut to size for both treads and risers.
Available in 100cm and 200cm lengths, along with 14mm and 18mm depths, this option ensures versatility across different flooring and staircase sizes.
Flush-fit oak stair nosing

For a sleek, minimalist finish, flush-fit stair nosing delivers a completely level edge where the nosing sits seamlessly alongside the flooring. This design is perfect for modern interiors where clean lines and uninterrupted surfaces are key.
Using a tongue-and-groove system, the flush-fit profile integrates precisely with your flooring planks, creating a smooth, professionally finished look across each step. The result is a refined staircase that blends effortlessly into the surrounding floor.
As with our other nosing options, the same length and depth choices make it easy to achieve a coherent finish regardless of your project requirements.
How do I match your nosing with my wood floor?
Achieving a consistent colour and finish is essential for a seamless result. That’s why all of our stair nosing products are available in different finish options to suit a variety of interior styles.

The lacquered oak option is designed to complement classic and natural oak tones, offering a durable surface that’s ready to install. Alternatively, unfinished oak provides complete flexibility, allowing you or your installer to apply oils, stains, or treatments for a more precise match.
For those looking for maximum convenience and accuracy, the ‘colour complementing’ option you can order through our V4 retailers ensures your nosing is pre-finished to match your chosen V4 flooring.
Available for our lip-over and flush-fit nosing, this option not only saves time during installation but also guarantees a well-matched, professional appearance.
Can I use your nosing with non-V4 floors?
While our stair nosing has been specifically made to work seamlessly with V4 flooring, it can also be adapted for use with other wood floor products. However, this may require some additional preparation during installation.
In particular, adjustments such as routing or trimming may be needed to ensure a proper fit. To avoid complications, it’s always recommended to compare the dimensions of your flooring boards with the nosing specifications before purchasing.
Can I use this nosing with herringbone and chevron styles of flooring?

Stair nosing isn’t limited to plank flooring. It can also be used effectively with designs including herringbone and chevron. Because the profiles of these block-style floors typically align with standard plank dimensions, our nosing solutions integrate seamlessly.
When colour-matched, this allows you to extend intricate laying patterns onto your staircase, creating a striking visual feature within your home.
Wooden flooring profile bars
Smooth transitions are essential for both the look and functionality of your flooring. Whether you are transitioning between floor types or doorways, looking for edging around solid objects, or finishing flooring at patio doors, we have a range of oak profile bar options to make those transitions seamless.
Our solid oak profile bars are designed to complement your flooring while providing practical solutions for a polished, professional result.
Oak square edge trim

Our square edge trim is a versatile edging solution made from solid oak. It’s ideal for creating a clean, defined edge where your wood floors are installed around solid objects like fire hearths, doormat wells, and bifold or patio doors.
Available in 100cm and 200cm lengths, and 14mm or 18mm thicknesses, it is compatible with all core V4 engineered oak collections, integrating easily with your flooring while ensuring both visual consistency and durability.
Oak T-bars

Our solid oak T-bars are ideal for creating subtle yet effective transitions between adjoining spaces. While continuous flooring can often be installed without interruption, practical considerations such as expansion gaps or changes in layout direction often make a transition profile necessary.
Our T-bars offer a neat and elegant solution, clearly defining spaces without disrupting the overall design. They are also available in 100cm and 200cm lengths, and 14mm or 18mm thicknesses.
Wood-to-carpet or tile trims

Transitions between different flooring materials can be challenging, but the right profile makes all the difference. Our wood to carpet / tile solid oak trims are specifically designed to bridge wood flooring with carpet or tile, ensuring a smooth and secure connection.
These profiles not only enhance the appearance of the transition but also help protect edges from wear over time, making them a practical addition to busy households. They are available in the same two length and depth options.
Oak ramp profile
Where there is a difference in floor height, our ramp profile provides a safe and visually appealing solution. The gently sloped solid oak design creates a gradual transition between levels, reducing trip hazards while maintaining a clean finish.
Colour options for our profile bars

All of the above profile bars are available in lacquered oak or unfinished oak. Lacquered oak is ideal for complementing classic and natural oak floor tones. By choosing our unfinished option, you can apply oils and stains to create a more precise colour match with your flooring.
Our ‘colour complementing’ option is also available on all of our profiles when ordered through a V4 approved retailer, giving you a pre-finished colour match with your chosen V4 wooden flooring.
Wood floor beading (scotia)
Natural wood flooring expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, making expansion gaps an essential part of any installation. Scotia beading provides an effective way to conceal these gaps while maintaining a tidy finish when skirting boards are not removed or replaced. It neatly bridges the gap between the flooring and the existing trim.
Our wood scotia options
Solid oak

A premium option made from solid oak, offering durability and a high-quality finish. Our solid oak scotia is available lacquered or unfinished, allowing for bespoke colouring and easy coordination with your flooring.
Veneered oak

A flexible choice, our veneered oak beading is available in lacquered, unfinished, walnut, white, and white ash variations—ideal for matching a variety of interior styles. When ordered through a V4 retailer, our ‘colour complementing’ option is also available.
MDF veneer finished in white

Our veneered white MDF scotia is a practical solution for painted interiors, offering a clean and consistent look that can match your skirting. Keep it white or paint it to match your skirting or wall colour. The ‘colour complementing’ option is also available via V4 retailers.
Veneer oak flat bead

For a more understated look, our flat bead scotia offers a slim, low-profile alternative. Its minimal 5mm height makes it ideal for contemporary interiors where subtle detailing is preferred.
The self-adhesive backing simplifies installation, making it a convenient choice for both professionals and DIY projects without compromising on appearance.
Oak radiator covers
Radiator pipes can interrupt the clean lines of a wood floor and also require expansion gaps. Our oak radiator covers are designed to conceal these gaps while complementing your flooring.
Dowel-fit pipe cover

These two-piece dowel fit covers are simple to install and provide a precise fit around pipework. Once in place, they neatly conceal expansion gaps and cut edges, improving the overall look of your installation.
Pre-cut for glued or glueless installation and made from solid oak, the two pieces fit neatly together around pipework. They have a full diameter of 50mm, with centre holes measuring 15mm.
They are available in unfinished oak for bespoke staining or lacquered oak for immediate use.
Snap-fit radiator collars
These solid oak radiator collars arrive in one piece. You simply snap or cut them in half and then glue them back together once positioned around your radiator pipe, covering expansion gaps and edges.
They measure 50mm in diameter, with centre holes of 17mm. Like the dowel-fit option, they are available in both lacquered and unfinished oak, giving you flexibility to match or customise as needed.
