EC101 Hillside Oak Installation in Farnham, Surrey
Nigel contacted Past & Present Wood Flooring who supplied and installed the EC101 Hillside Oak floor. The 18 mm Engineered oak floor was installed as a floating system on a V4 underlay and V4 Wood Flooring's matching solid profile bars were used to edge around the fire place. With a young children the Beauchamps wanted a flooring solution character and a natural warm aesthetic, which would stand up to the rigours of family life and be simple to keep clean.
"We had friends who had the EC101 Hillside Oak wood floor installed and they raved about the quality of the floor and its ease of maintenance. We had looked at other products in DIY stores and flooring shops and had considered other products other than wood flooring. We liked the colour and appearance of the oiled floor but decided to go for the EC101 Hillside Oak (unbrushed) once we were shown the samples as this we felt gave a smooth and natural appearance. The price was reasonable too."
The warm tones of the rustic oak sealed with air cured natural lacquer, work perfectly with the sort colour pallet of the walls and furniture.

We had considered having a mix of carpet and wood floor across the main expanse of our living space, but decided that this would make the space seem smaller. We sweep or vacuum the floor most days, especially the dining room as we have young children. We had lived with a mix of old hard wood flooring, carpet, and laminate flooring with gaps around the edges. The clean lines and easy maintenance of our new floor is fantastic. EC101 Hillside Oak
Thick coats of matt drying lacquer varnish are applied over long wide boards of EC101 Hillside Oak to accentuate the smooth sanded hand filled rustic surface that is full of natural oak character. Giving the same robust feel under foot as a solid floor but with a far more economical use of the precious hardwood top layer. The planks use a thick wear layer of European oak and are backed on an ultra stable hardwood multi ply tongue & grooved base. Realising that traditional solid flooring was wasteful and more damaging to the environment, V4 Wood Flooring have pioneered the use of this type of flooring construction over the last decade.
