Scandinavian Design, Windlesham

In the heart of Surrey, this family home received a total makeover complete with V4’s Shore Drift Oak herringbone. Expertly installed by Moonwalk flooring, this parquet floor offers an abundance of light in this Scandinavian-inspired design.

Located in the quaint village of Windlesham, this beautiful home belongs to Sharron Collopy, who recently undertook a large renovation featuring our Shore Drift Oak Herringbone flooring. Following a tragic house fire, Sharron worked closely with Moonwalk Flooring who expertly installed the parquet flooring, bringing the home back to life.   Having worked with V4 for a number of years, Jack and the Moonwalk Flooring team have a brilliant understanding of the products, which combined with their lengthy experience in the flooring industry meant they were the ideal company to complete this tricky project, as co-owner Jack explains…

“We’ve been working with V4 for 3 years now, since the start of Moonwalk Flooring. The company is owned by myself and my brother, together we have been in the flooring industry for 35 years combined”.

Wanting to add a sense of light to the home’s design, Sharron chose Shore Drift Oak from our Deco Parquet collection. This European Oak floor undergoes a light brushing process to enhance its texture, offering a tactile finish before it is sealed with a durable invisible lacquer. This not only ensures robustness but also maintains the raw, untreated oak appearance, creating a distinctive and natural flooring design. Finally, Moonwalk Flooring completed the installation with an embedded mat well to help protect the flooring, as Jack explains: “We also put in a built-in coir mat for the longevity of the wood and keeping it looking fresh for longer.”

When discussing the installation with Jack, he explains that following the fire, there was a lot of subfloor preparation to be completed prior to laying the herringbone floors. With their extensive background both in the flooring industry and with our products, the Moonwalk Flooring team were the ideal choice to lay the floor in Sharron’s home.

“The V4 herringbone is a great product to work with and goes together perfectly. Which makes our job more enjoyable”, Jack recalls.

The final design incorporated elements reminiscent of Scandinavian decor, with each room offering a minimalistic aesthetic. The clean white walls sat effortlessly against the rustic nature of the wood flooring and natural materials, perfect for adding light throughout the whole house. Finally, for a seamless finish, Moonwalk Flooring used colour-complimenting transition bars where the flooring meets the other materials for a clean and tidy aesthetic.
