âA Place in The Sunâ Presenter Laura Hamilton renovates her Surrey home with Frozen Umber Herringbone floors
In the heart of Surrey, TV presenter Laura Hamilton has spent the last 18 months on âThe Rebuildâ, renovating her countryside house into a dream home. Designing the property from start to finish, with children Rocco and Tahlia helping every step of the way, this beautiful house is complete with a chic and stylish interior. From contrasting black panelling in the hallway to a grand marble island-come-seating area in the kitchen, no details were spared when planning the interiors, and when it came to the floors there was no exception. Documenting the trip on her YouTube channel, Laura visited our Surrey Design Centre, where she met with a member of the team to discover our vast selection of flooring solutions. Impressed by the size of the showroom, Laura spent the afternoon browsing different collections from our made-to-order Baroque Design Panels to our Lineage Solid Oak Tables and our Deco Plank and Parquet ranges. When discussing her trip to the design centre, Laura recalls:
âThe Surrey Design Centre is so beautiful and you can get some great inspiration. Â I was surprised that it's not just flooring they offer either... some of the ideas for kitchen worktops are fab!â
When it came to the floor, Laura chose our Frozen Umber from the Deco Parquet Herringbone collection. With hues of browns and greys, this muted-oak tone floor is like no other. When discussing the design, Laura explains âI would describe my home as boutique, chic! I spend a lot of time in hotels travelling and love taking design inspiration from themâ. With a great deal of light and space throughout the home, through the use of large windows and white interiors, offset with gold hardware and accessories, Laura has certainly created a design with the elegance and style she set out to achieve. One of the most impressive details is the marble island with not only a waterfall countertop on both ends but a seating area on one side. Both innovative and stylish, this clean and white feature is not only beautifully contrasted by our Frozen Umber parquet flooring but is a great example of Laura Hamiltonâs passion for architecture and design.
