We caught up with one of our Platinum V4 Partners, Wellington Flooring, to get to know the team, learn more about their journey to becoming flooring experts, and dive into just some of the brilliant projects they have completed with our flooring solutions. Wellington Flooring opened in 2021; and with years of experience in the trade, and a great team behind them, their Surrey based showroom quickly became the hub of flooring expertise. Introducing us to the faces behind the brand, the team explain…

“Wellington Flooring are a small team of experts who take great care and pride in everything they do. Starting with Wellington’s owners, Dan and Nathan, who have a combined experience of 35+ years. Fitting everything from the softest carpet to solid wood over the years, they know everything there is to know about flooring. Behind the scenes of our Instagram, we have Lucy, our brand & marketing manager, who records the process and progress of some of our jobs alongside running our first showroom based at Lavershot Barns in Windlesham.”

And it doesn’t stop there, with the business expanding and taking on more and more projects, the team are continuing to grow, as they went on to say…

 

“Since Wellington began in 2021, Dan and Nathan have been using their expertise to train up our apprentice, Harley, who is now more than capable of fitting some of our jobs by himself and has become a vital part of the team with our diary consistently getting busier. Given the success we’ve had with Harley, in 2023 we took on our second full-time apprentice, 17 year old Jack, who is well on his way to learning all the tricks of our trade. As well as this, due to our heavy workload and ever-growing business, we have a number of trusted fitters who we contract out the occasional jobs to. This way, we can keep on top of work both local to Surrey and the surrounding areas as well as ensuring that everyone who finds us has their new flooring done to an immaculate standard.”

 

With years of experience in the flooring industry, Dan and Nathan’s relationship with the team here at V4 dates back many years, building the perfect foundation of knowledge to become a Platinum V4 Partner, as Brand & Marketing Manager Lucy explains: “Through many years of working in the flooring industry and with the showroom being so local to us, it’s not a surprise that Dan and Nathan both came across V4 very early on in their careers. After working with both the product and company regularly, realising very quickly how easy it is to fit and how lovely everyone is that works there, it was inevitable that they were extremely keen to keep the relationship going through Wellington and have them as a huge feature in their first showroom.”

Installing hundreds of metres of our flooring each year, we had to ask if the team had any favourites amongst our collections, to which they replied… Whilst all of V4’s flooring is beautiful, both us and our customers definitely have some favourites; The White Smoked Oak herringbone from the Deco range is an amazingly versatile product that with different decor, can be made to look modern or vintage. The variation in each plank makes it a stunning feature in any home - and on the floor in our showroom! Next, a huge transformation job we completed last year in a 500 year old home brought Kingswood from the Heritage collection to the top of our list. Our client wanted to keep as much character in their stately home as possible but also match the cosy country aesthetic they envisioned throughout the 190sqm of their home - and this product did just that.” When chatting with the team about recent projects, Lucy went on to say: “In January 2024 we’ve already completed jobs in Shore Drift Oak herringbone, Tannery Brown plank and Toridan plank - three vastly different woods visually and we’re hoping this continues for us throughout the remainder of the year as there’s nothing we enjoy more than seeing each person’s individual style come to life within their home with V4”. One notable project from last year was the SC111 Blackpool installation, which was nominated for the 2023 V4 Cube Awards, hosted by television’s Laura Jane Clark, which was a brilliant example of Wellington Flooring’s fantastic work.

Following Wellington Flooring’s involvement in the Grand Designs Live Exhibition, which you can read about here, we asked the team what we can look forward to in 2024, which Lucy went on to share: “We’ve got lots of exciting projects in the pipeline for 2024 that we can’t wait to share across our socials as well as a new website where our customers will easily be able to order samples from jobs we’ve done and browse through the current trending styles. 2023 was a huge year of growth for Wellington and we can’t quite believe where it has taken us – so we’re hoping for a lot more of that this year!”.
